Hey guys i'm in Regina Sask, I just bought a 1990 gsxr 1100 streetfighter this year its awesome! I'm just getting interested in turboing it. I've turboed 3 cars so i would like to try this bike... I'm curious about something tho... I've heard you can use headers from an gsxr 1000 so why wouldn't you be able to use a turbo header from one? if so why aern't guys using these it would make fabricating that peice alot cheaper...

Hey Rob, welcome...
As far as I know, the spacings are different from gsxr1000 to the older oil cooled 1100's. I have a set of 1K headers here, i could check this weekend.

That would be great! I wonder if it would be close enough to heat and bend... how is your project coming??

Problem is... they are titanium. So welding isnt' as easy as you'd think. But if you were to buy gsxr1k turbo headers and go from there, I'm sure you could modify to suit, as long as the port sizes are the same...

Yah i was thinking about buying a cheap set on eb*y and if the port size works i'll bend them until they fit... if they break... well they were cheap!

1100 - centre camchain....1000 - side drive camchain! So no - they won't fit and you can't just heat and bend to fit.
A decent 1000 turbo header is cut and shut to exactly - not much spare to work with i'm afraid

I agree... if you aren't up to fabbing a set yourself, I would think your best bet is a set from MCX in sweden as we discussed over email.
Once you get going and seriously want to do this, lets get a project log going in the projects section.

titanium headers will crack and turn brittle if they are overheated. they cannot take turbo heat.
